Colorado Trip / SnowboundThe biggest gaff of the trip was our ill-fated drive up to Grand Mesa in western Colorado. I wanted to go to Colorado National Monument for some high desert views but instead we took a 4.5 hour short-cut up Grand Mesa. It was a narrow, one-way road (harrowing for some) and the top rewarded us with a triple-crown of closed campgrounds, five foot snowdrifts, and snowmobiles. This is the Bean from the (closed) ranger station. |
