| La Democracia This photo could titled "The Worst Street in Xela," and this is what we had to walk down every morning to get from our home to school. It's funny, because our van driver took the outskirts of Xela when he came into town to avoid traffic; which is fine, but the outskirts of Xela are pretty shoddy compared to the rest of the city, and then he turned up this street to get to our house. We gave each other a "what the hell did we get ourselves into?" look after he got out to ask directions. As said above, we saw the most run-down section of town and the worst street in the city as our first impression. |
