| La Democracia Here I am with Carlos, my instructor for my first week. In my second week, Carlos had a student returning from Norway who he had become good friends with, and they wanted to work together. I had no problem with that and figured it would be good to have a couple different instructors, and it was. Unfortunately, the friend from Norway spent a few days on the coast before coming to Xela and came down with a terrible sickness that hospitalized him. Everyone feared that it may have been dengue fever contracted from a mosquito bite, but that was the worst case scenario and only speculation. He was doing better the day we left, and we hope everything turned out okay! |
