Sites (San Andrés Xecul)

Our guide didn't speak enough English and we didn't speak enough Spanish to get exactly what was going on here. He took us to a small house/hut thingy that had some beads and paintings of Jesus on the walls along with photos of people and a strange assortment of...stuff. Like plastic Christmas lights. Outside the house was a well-burned Christian cross and, below the right arm of the cross, four or five equally charred figurines. I think they used to be action figures. Alas, we didn't really know what this is, but I'm going to take a wild stab and say some sort of Mayan Folk Christianity.
