Évora We stayed in Évora two nights. It was similar to Óbidos in that it was a medieval fortified city, and similar to Coimbra in that it housed a largish university. We mostly strolled the narrow streets and did our best to avoid the touristy shops that ringed the main square. We
also toured the surrounding area which features a number of megaliths--stone
structures similar to Stonehenge. This gave us an opportunity to stretch
our legs in the beautiful countryside, too. |
