We encountered this popular dish, pan con tomate. In probably my favorite conversations of the trip, Amy asks the woman at the counter, "Que es el pan con tomate?" to which she looked at Amy for a second and said with a smirk, "Pan con tomate." (The English translation: "What is the bread with tomato?" "It's bread with tomato."

We all had a good laugh about it and when the woman brought it, she explained that you put olive oil on the toasted bread and then slather on the thin tomato sauce and eat it. Simple but tasty, shown below with a café con leche.
