The Court of the Lions, one of the Alhambra's showpieces, was unfortunately under construction. The fountain at the court's center was a piece of engineering genius where each of the twelve lions spouted water on the hour as a kind of clock. The conquering Christians dismantled t to figure out how it worked and in doing so permanently broke it.
