There are certain places on vacation that you feel an instant connection with, and the tiny town of Torla was one such place. The weather finally cleared up for a few days in the mountains and the views kept getting better and better as we headed east. We did some quick comparison shopping between the four hotels right on the road and went for the nicest one since they were all with 8 of each other. We stayed in the excellent Hotel Bujaruelo, family-run by a super nice couple.

We did two hikes, the Cola de Caballo ("The Horse's Tail") and Puerto de Bujaruelo ("Bujaruelo Door"). The first one had a little bit of everything before ending in the valley with the spraying waterfall that gives the hike its name, and the second was of the straight up variety that actually crosses over in France.

The Pyrenees was our last stop on the trip and we're so glad we went. We considered scrubbing it if the weather wasn't going to cooperate, but luckily the skies cleared and we absolutely loved it, so much so that we would strongly consider starting a trip in Barcelona and working our way over to the Basque Country via the Pyrenees.
