Unfortunately, the trail started crossing snow fields that we were rather ill-prepared to deal with. They're difficult to cross even when you do have sturdy boots and hiking sticks, but if either of us slipped we had nothing to arrest our fall and it would have been a long fall. That and Amy's vertigo meant that we had to turn around before reaching France.
