We have stayed in monasteries before and found them to be quirky but fun experiences. We expected there to be a little town at the foot of the mountain that we could get some wine and food to snack on, but we were wrong. The road was wet, winding, and full of homicidal truck drivers and going back to the last town wasn't a great choice by the time we reached the monastery, so we hoped there would be stuff at the top...
