They did have a great view of the surrounding mountains. What we learned is that thie monastery is on the route of the Pilgrimage to Santiago (see here for an explanation if you've never heard of it) and that's why it is listed as a tourist location, as many pilgrims stop here for the night on their journey. We saw dozens of walkers on the way to Pamplona but none here.
