At the risk of sounding like a broken record, we stayed at Hotel Puerta de Sevilla and once again thought it was a very nice, clean place down near the heart of the action and would recommend it to anyone. |

Bullfight in Sevilla We attended a bullfight and stayed for the first bull. If you're squeamish, don't look at the second two rows of pictures (though they're not terribly graphic). Bullfighting is a touchy subject--whether it should be internationally banned as cruelty to animals, or whether it's an integral part of Spanish culture--and tourists who stay to watch only the first bull likely offend people on both sides of the argument. I think it's fair to say the four of us wanted to witness the spectacle of a bullfight first hand to form our own opinion and, finding it difficult to watch, we unanimously decided to leave. Would any of us ever see one again? No, but I do understand why some find it enjoyable. |
