checked the weather for Yosemite in Crescent City and again in San Francisco
and the report was "patchy," meaning mix of rain and sun. Nobody
mentioned anything about snow and ice, which is exactly what we encountered
upon reaching the park. Instead of sleeping in our tent we opted for a rustic
cabin (no television, no private bathroom) and walked the valley floor amidst
snowflakes the size silver dollars. We'd been to Yosemite together back
in April of 1998 so it was kind of fun to see it under a blanket of snow. |
